Overview

The film records how Shang Liangguang’s team at the Agricultural Genomics Institute in Shenzhen, CAAS, constructed the world’s largest rice super pan-genome, identified salt-tolerant genes and transformed saline-alkali land into “new granaries”. It also features Academician Huang Sanwen’s team, who created hybrid potatoes through genome-designed breeding for the first time globally and transformed potato farming. Academician Yuan Longping stated: “Hybrid potato seed propagation technology is disruptive innovation and will spark a green revolution for potatoes.” It opens great prospects for potato breeding and its industry.
