In 902 AD, as the Kingdom of Nanzhao collapses, the Wengka tribe deep in the tropical rainforest of China's southwestern frontier is not spared: the powerful Shizhao tribe expands without restraint, slaughtering tribespeople and carrying off their women. Mu Lange slips into the rainforest alone, ambushing and killing Shizhao warriors along the way to rescue his captured kin, and at the cost of his own life completes a final act of redemption born of blood and loyalty.
